Direct Report: Manufacturing Department Manager
1. Work on custom projects as requested by Manufacturing Department Manager
2. Work on expedited projects as requested by Manufacturing Department Manager
3. Reading and interpreting engineering blueprints
4. Measuring and marking out cutting and bending lines
5. Weld small and large components such as metal, beams, and aluminum.
6. Setting up metalwork machinery including rollers, drill presses, flame cutters, brakes, and shears
7. Double-checking design specifications before commencing work
8. Fabricating and constructing metal components
9. Grinding and finishing completed products
10. Performing quality checks on completed products as necessary
11. Conforming with state and company safety regulations
12. Completing job reports
13. Ensure that manufacturing stays on schedule and within budget
14. Marking cutting lines on material
15. Ensuring that all parts are properly fitted, aligned and completed as planned
16. Ensuring that quality control standards are met
17. Testing products for their functionality
18. Individual will utilize measuring tools to inspect first piece, in-process and final inspection
19. Analyzing information and finding the best solutions to problems
20. Perform MIG, TIG, stick and other types of weld based on project needs
21. De-bur and grind metal as necessary to achieve proper surface texture
22. Setting up components for welding according to specifications
23. Maintain equipment in a good condition that does not compromise safety
24. Assess welded surfaces, structures and components to identify errors
25. Follow and enforce strict safety regulations such as wearing heat-resistant gloves, protective masks, and safety shoes
26. Monitor machinery for appropriate usage and temperature.
27. Weld components in flat and vertical positions where necessary
28. Keeping the work environment safe
High School diploma or GED equivalent - 5+ years of work experience in welding - A valid certificate in welding from an accredited institution - Ability to read and comprehend blueprints and work specifications - Working knowledge of OSHA & EPA regulations - Knowledge of warehouse and fabrication best practices and safety procedures - Proficiency with metal fabrication tools including calipers, shears, rollers, flame cutters, and drill presses - Strong analytical, communication, and computer skills. - Excellent knowledge of welding machinery, electrical equipment, and manual tools. - Ethical behavior - Attention to detail and self-motivation
